About Dr. Sharma
Dr. Dimple Sharma earned her D.D.S. at the University of Toronto in 2003 and has cared for families for more than 20 years. Patients describe her the same way again and again: compassionate, highly skilled, and able to make even the most nervous visitor feel at ease. She believes in prevention first, honest options and never rushing a visit.
A new chapter has begun
In March, ownership of the practice passed from Dr. Michel Guirguis to Dr. Dimple Sharma. For long-time patients, very little changes: you'll see many of the same friendly faces on our team, and your records, treatment plans and ongoing care continue seamlessly.
Dr. Guirguis isn't going far. To keep the transition smooth, he continues to see patients in the office two days a week.
Prefer a particular dentist? Choose either one, or tell us when you call or text 905.385.5649.

Kids' Corner · Children's dentistry in Hamilton
We love meeting little patients. A calm, friendly first visit sets the tone for a lifetime of healthy smiles, and we make it fun, never scary.
What to expect
For very young children, the first visit is mostly about getting comfortable: a ride in the chair, counting teeth, meeting the team.
Dr. Sharma checks how the teeth and jaws are growing, looks for early signs of decay, and answers all your questions.
Brushing, snacks, thumb-sucking, teething: we'll share simple advice that fits your family's routine.

We've received your completed forms. If you added your email, a copy is on its way to you too. We look forward to seeing you at DS Dentistry.
Services
From routine cleanings to replacing a missing tooth, we do many procedures right here in our renovated office, with modern technology and a gentle touch.
Replace a missing tooth
A missing tooth can make chewing harder and affect your confidence. A dental implant replaces the root of the tooth, then a natural-looking crown is placed on top, so it looks and works like the real thing.
Our 3D imaging helps us see your jaw in detail and plan each implant precisely.
Straighten discreetly
Authorized Invisalign Dentist
Invisalign uses a series of nearly invisible, removable aligners to gradually straighten your teeth, without metal brackets or wires.
We start with a quick, comfortable iTero digital scan, with no goopy impressions, and can show you a preview of how your smile could move.
Brighten your smile
Coffee, tea and time can dull a smile. Professional whitening, supervised by your dentist, is a safe way to brighten your teeth while protecting your enamel and gums.
We'll check your teeth first and recommend the option that suits you.

Nervous about the dentist?
If the dentist makes you anxious, you're not alone, and you're in gentle hands. We take things at your pace, explain every step and never judge.
Laughing gas (nitrous oxide) is available to help you relax during treatment.

For the whole family
Regular checkups and cleanings catch small problems early, before they become painful or costly. We see patients of all ages, from a child's first visit to seniors.
We also offer tooth-coloured fillings, extractions including wisdom teeth, and custom sports mouthguards.
Toothache or broken tooth?
Dental emergencies rarely happen at a good time. If you have a toothache, swelling, or a chipped or broken tooth, call or text us and tell us what's happening.
We'll help as quickly as we can and explain your options clearly.

A large, long-running study suggests that the humble habit of flossing may do more than protect your gums.
Research presented at the American Stroke Association's International Stroke Conference in February 2025 followed more than 6,000 adults for 25 years as part of the Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities study. Compared with people who didn't floss, those who flossed at least once a week had:
The benefit appeared to be independent of brushing and regular dental visits, and flossing more often was linked to a greater reduction in risk. The researchers think the connection may run through inflammation: gum disease keeps the body in a low-grade inflammatory state, which is a known contributor to heart and blood-vessel problems.
This is an observational study, so it shows an association rather than proof that flossing prevents stroke. Flossing habits were self-reported in a questionnaire and weren't tracked over the 25 years. Still, flossing is inexpensive, takes two minutes, and its benefits for your gums are well established, so there's every reason to make it a daily habit.

Food & teeth
You don't have to give up treats. It's how and when you enjoy them that matters most.
When you eat sugar, the bacteria in your mouth feed on it and produce acid. That acid softens tooth enamel, and over time repeated acid attacks can lead to cavities. The number of times your teeth are exposed to sugar matters as much as the amount.
Regular checkups let us spot early enamel damage while it's still small and easy to fix.

Did you know?
A healthy mouth may be good for more than your smile.
Researchers have long studied the link between gum health and heart health. Gum disease causes ongoing inflammation, and people with gum disease are more likely to have heart disease. One large study published in 2019, which followed more than 160,000 adults, found that people who brushed their teeth more often had a lower risk of some heart problems.
These studies show a connection, not proof that brushing prevents heart disease. But they're one more good reason to look after your gums.
